From prison-like lockdown to million investment from Fredrik Eklund in the Swedish version of Dragons' Den!
Milou and Elsa, two Swedish entrepreneurs with over 10 years of experience from Shanghai, started their own brand - LOMI Pet Care. Their journey began when Milou adopted a French bulldog with skin problems. Despite searching everywhere, she could not find natural products suitable for her dog. Together with Elsa, who has an adopted border collie/Aussie mix, they decided to create their own solutions and founded Lomi Pet Care.
The goal was clear - to develop natural, sustainable and environmentally friendly products to contribute to healthier pets.
The journey has not always been easy, as the brand was launched during the pandemic in 2021 and suffered the strictest lockdown in Shanghai in the spring of 2022. Despite this, Milou and Elsa fought on and managed to deliver products from their homes, fill empty shelves in pet stores and generate sales.
Their success has resulted in an investment of SEK 1 million at a valuation of SEK 6.5 million from the prominent businessman and "dragon" Fredrik Eklund from Draknästet.
This partnership is expected to strengthen LOMI Pet Care's position within the industry and establish them as a prominent player both in Sweden and internationally. Demand for LOMI products is growing rapidly, and plans to launch their range on the US market are in full swing. LOMI Pet Care strives to be the premier lifestyle brand for pets.
